Chippa United have confirmed the re-signing of three players ahead of this weekend's DStv Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs.

The Chilli Boys are set to travel to Durban to meet Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday where they will be hoping to upset the odds and record a third consecutive league win, following previous wins over Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu.

Ahead of the tie, the Gqeberha-based side have bolstered their squad by re-signing goalkeeper Masizakhe Myataza and midfielders Ayabulela Konqobe and Meshack Maphangule.

"We are delighted to announce that 3 players have rejoined the club for the remainder of the season! We welcome back: Masizakhe Myataza, Ayabulela Konqobe (and) Meshack Maphangule," the club said in a statement. "They're all available for selection against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday."

Maphangule was previously on the club's books during the 2019/20 season and most recently played for Pretoria Callies while Konqobe and Myataza both spent last season with All Stars.

The trio have all returned on a free transfer and on deals that will see them remain at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium until the end of the current campaign.
