Clayon Daniels says SuperSport United will be out for redemption against Mamelodi Sundowns

According to Daniels, Matsatsantsa are still licking their wounds after their humiliating 5-0 Tshwane derby loss to the Brazilians during their previous Absa Premiership encounter, at Loftus Versveld last week.

However, the defender is confident they can make amends in tonight's rematch, at Lucas Moripe Stadium, telling “We definitely haven’t forgotten the 5-0 drubbing they gave us hence we want to rectify things.

“We will be looking for redemption against our rivals from Pretoria. It won’t be as easy as I’m saying it now as they will be expecting us to come at them hard. So they. too. will be prepared.

“I think we just need to put up a better performance against this time round as we were not very good in the previous game against them,” the former Ajax Cape Town and Sundowns defender stated.

The 32-year-old Cape Town-born player has also emphasised the importance of maintaining their focus during the back end of the season as there is still a lot to play for.

“As one can see, the title is definitely going down to the wire. We still have Nedbank Cup commitments as well so there is plenty at stake for us," he adds.

“We have to give it our all. It will be very important for us not to lose sight of our goals,” Daniels concludes.
