Goals from Grant Kekana and Ghampani Lungu guided SuperSport to a 2-0 win over Sundowns to move up to fourth spot in the league standings.

“Very tough game, we did not come here to play for one point but we can here for three points. I think everyone with a blue jersey deserves it [Man of the Match Award]. Well done to the guys,” Daniels told SuperSport TV.

“We were up against Africa’s best. You have to be organised. You have to be smart defensively. You can’t just dive in and let them slip past you.”

Daniels, who was awarded Man of the Match, reveals that their first goal scored by Grant Kekana was something they had practiced at training.

“Congratulations to the coach [Kaitano Tembo]. He told us ‘this is is a smart team, you can’t just go there gung-ho they are going to find gaps’. Tactically we were well organised, we got the goals in the right moments.

“We knew they man-mark in the box, so we practiced it at training where one has to block for another one. I told Grant [Kekana], you go far and I’ll block here and you’re going to be free. He went past me and got a goal. We train these things. Congratulations to the guys.

“It’s [league title] there for the taking. I think it’s still wide open. This is going to be one of the seasons where it goes to the last game. We just want to be there in the pack and raise our hands when it matters most,” he said.
