SuperSport United captain Dean Furman says his team need to beat Mamelodi Sundowns tonight if they hope to retain their chance of winning the league.

The Brazilians have enjoyed the bragging rights over Matsatsantsa in the Tshwane Derby over the past couple of years and Furman wants Sundowns' dominance to end when they lock horns at Loftus Stadium tonight.

SuperSport dropped two valuable points at home after a draw with Polokwane City in Atteridgeville on Saturday but a win tonight would put them back into the race for the league championship.

Furman believes his team will turn things around this time.

"We are looking forward to it," said Furman. "Again it [the Tshwane Derby] has not been good to us in recent years and it's something we need to turn around against Sundowns tonight.

"It's a massive game for us and a win can take us right back there [in the title race]. We need to take the positives from the game against Polokwane City and do well against Sundowns."

Matsatsantsa are set to welcome back striker Mxolisi Macuphu after he missed their last game due to suspension.
