Having just returned from a vacation in the United Kingdom, the SuperSport United captain is looking forward to preparations for the coming campaign under the tutelage of the Englishman.
"Coach Baxter is a winner wherever goes. Look at what he has done at (Kaizer) Chiefs," Furman tells snl24.com/kickoff. "We as players at Supersport are very lucky to be working with him."
Furman cites the club's cup achievements as an indication of what might be to come under a coach that won two league titles with the Glamour Boys.
"Just look back at what we achieved at the back end of the season after a slow start," he said.
"We ended up winning the Nedbank Cup and securing a top eight finish- that's due to the belief he installed in us."
The Bafana Bafana international also lauded Baxter for the signings he has made thus far, many as a result of connections he fostered at Chiefs.
"The players we acquired are all quality. They really compliment what is already there, you know. That's what coach Baxter is all about - quality and a winning mentality.
"Its important that we as the players get stuck in from the preseason to ensure we have a good start to the season. It's also important to build on the momentum of we picked up after. The success in the Nedbank Cup and the top eight place ."
On the subject of personnel Furman went on to say he is not sure if the club will retain the services of Mario Booysen on a permanent basis.
Booysen was loaned out to SuperSport during the latter part of the season – and could join them permanently this off-season – following his release by parent club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Furman was quick to acknowledge the role that Booysen played in improving the team spirit.
"He [Mario] was great. His character and energy he brought in the dressing room was fantastic. He really helped us a lot and he is a great guy as well," the SuperSport skipper concludes.
