Chiefs are moving quickly to wrap up the process of restructuring their technical team after securing the services of Hunt as their new head coach on Thursday.
snl24.com/kickoff can confirm that the club held discussions with former Bafana Bafana international Dillon Sheppard on Friday in an effort to bring him in as an assistant coach.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger was at The Village on Friday as he engaged in contract negotiations to deputise for the four-time league-winning coach.
'Sheppy' spent the past six years under Hunt, starting out as a player with Bidvest Wits before retiring in 2017 and taking up a coaching role in the club's youth structures as well as helping out in the first team.
With Wits having since been dissolved, the 41-year-old has now been earmarked to reunite with his former mentor and colleague, while Amakhosi legend Arthur Zwane has also been tipped to form part of the first team trinity.
Should the process of negotiating go smoothly, it is expected that Chiefs will announce the deal within the next 72 hours.
