Richards Bay FC and Chippa United played to an entertaining a 3-3 draw in the DStv Premiership action on Sunday afternoon.

The Chilli Boys only made one alteration after their narrow defeat against Cape Town City, as Wazza Kambindu was preferred over Etiosa Ighodaro upfront.

Over to Bay, they made only two changes from their slender win over Cape Town City, as Sanele Barns returned from suspension alongside a first start for Harold Majadibodu.

Chippa had a quick start as on 15 minutes Ronaldo Maarman forced a save out of goalkeeper Salim Magoola with a stinging effort just outside the box.

The hosts had a blow shortly before the half-hour mark after goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua could not continue with a knee injury and he was replaced by Kewen Prince.

Making only his second appearance for the Chilli Boys, Prince was called into action a couple of times and eventually conceded just before the break after a strike by Somila Ntsundwana in the box.

Richards Bay remained on the attack and doubled their lead in first-half stoppage time after they forced an own goal from Zuko Mdunyelwa.

Morgan Mammila's charges were fired up coming from the break and ten minutes later Maarman eventually pulled a goal back with a strike in the box against the run of play.

However, as the game opened up, Ntsundwana restored a two-goal lead for the visitors and grabbed his brace on 66 minutes with a close-range shot after he was teed up by Luvuyo Memela.

Chippa made a tactical change to add numbers in attack with 16 minutes remaining after Khanyisile Mayo replaced Thabiso Lebitso.

Mayo made an immediate impact for the Chili, as Ronald Pfumbidzai reduced the deficit two minutes later with a header in the box from his cross following a corner.

Chippa were fired up and having the momentum, Ighodaro snatched the equaliser a couple of minutes later with a close-range shot after he was setup by Maarman.

Both sides had chance to win it at the death but Prince and Magoola came out on top in end to attacks, as the game ended all square.
