accreditation

There were no changes from Arrows following their win over Maritzburg United, but Tebogo Makobela, Siphesihle Mkhize and Maloisane Mokhele were recalled by Chippa.

Arrows didn’t wait to get settled but hit the ground running in the first minute through a smart finish from Pule Mmodi after he had intercepted a loose ball.

There was no reprieve for the travelling entourage after an injury cut Mokhele's afternoon, with Aboubacar Sangare introduced as his replacement.

Chippa didn’t allow the set-back to hold them down but rose and troubled Abafana Besthende from a promising strike minutes later by Veluyeke Zulu.

In that, Abafana Besthende weren’t spared in the way of early casualties and had to remove Ntsikelelo Nxadi and introduced Thabani Zuke.

Chippa refused to lose hope and levelled on 39 minutes through a finish from Mkhize after Abafana Besthende failed to clear their lines.

Abafana Besthende could’ve gone back ahead four minutes later from a clear opening by Andile Fikizolo, but he was thwarted by goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua.

Arrows looked to enhance their dominant first spell just over 60 minutes played through a free-kick by Sbonelo Cele, but it missed target completely.

Then, a clear chance to restore the lead fell the way of Arrows seven minutes later from a cross by Cele to Mmodi but the latter failed to hit target.

Chippa continued to hang tight and bagged the winner in the final minute through a snap finish by Sandile Mthethwa from a corner-kick and helped his side to a rare win.
