Sekhukhune made three changes to the side that beat SuperSport United, as Thabang Sibanyoni, Tumelo Matona and Blessing Sarupinda were all recalled while Gallants brought back Miguel Timm and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondo.

The hosts had a quick start as Yusuf Maart had a good chance to give them the lead in the seventh minute after going through on goal but his shot across goal was saved by shot-stopper Washington Arubi.

The game was opening up after that, with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa having a good attacking spell but they could not bring goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata into action.

Willard Katsande had a chance to break the deadlock for MacDonald Makhubedu's charges just before the half-time break after a free-kick by Maart but his header went over the bar.

Sekhukhune had a lively start in the second stanza, creating chances but they could not convert them and Gallants broke the deadlock instead in the 65th minute courtesy a strike in the box by Joseph Malongoane.

Babina Noko made an attacking change in the last ten minutes after Siyabulela Shai replaced Talent Chawapiwa but Gallants held on to clinch back-to-back wins that took them up to 12th on the log.
