New AmaZulu signings Dumisani Zuma and Gabadinho Mhango have revealed their lofty ambitions after joining Usuthu.

The Kwa-Zulu Natal-based side has embarked on a rebuild ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season after parting ways with no fewer than 15 players, while Dumisani Zuma and Gabadinho Mhango are among those who have been roped in as reinforcements.

Zuma joined AmaZulu on a free transfer after being released by Kaizer Chiefs earlier this month, while Mhango arrived from Orlando Pirates in a move that saw Usuthu defender Thapelo Xoki move in the opposite direction.

"When you join the team, there are expectations and I think after the meetings we had with the chairman, the plan and the expectations are very clear," Zuma said in part of a statement on Monday. "We want to do well, win the league, and I think I will help the team in achieving that."

Mhango added, "I'm very excited to join Usuthu. I can't wait to start a new challenge – new players, new team, new jersey, I'm excited. I want to join trophies and grow as a player. I want to help the team achieve that goal and personally grow as a player.

"That is what everyone is looking for as a player and a club. My goal is to help the club win trophies. That is my goal."

The duo arrived alongside Namibia international full-back Riaan Hanamub and Veluyeke Zulu, who were signed by Chippa United, ex-TS Galaxy star Augustine Kwem and former Cape Town Spurs defender Thenda Mukumela.
