Chiefs are considering bringing on board Dove as a left-footed central defender.

The 28-year-old has been training with Chiefs for over a week now having arrived from UD Songo who he joined at the beginning of the year after surprisingly cutting ties with Cape Town City.

He was with City for four years playing regularly.

"Edmilson Dove has done everything correct," Claudio Tonetti, the manager of UD Songo tells KickOff.

"All that Edmilson has done so far is above board and correct.

"With regards to the agreement that Edmilson has with us he has done everything the right way.

"With us, he has our blessings to find a new club in South Africa because that is very important for him in his career.

"On our side, everything is clear and correct.

"We are going to issue the clearance because that is the agreement that we have with him," Tonetti told this website on Wednesday morning.

AmaKhosi only have Thabani Austin Dube as the only option in the left central defence position which was played by Daniel Cardoso in previous years.

Arthur Zwane has already made mention of the club’s desire to have a left-footed centre-back addition to his squad to enable him to have the balance that he desires.

So far Reeve Frosler – naturally right-footed – has been used at left-back ahead of Sifiso Hlanti and Sibusiso Mabiliso

Dove can also play left-back.
