Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler says they don't have a choice but to remain positive in their last three games after losing to Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night.
The Team of Choice needed a win on the night to boost their hopes of surviving relegation but they were playing against the title favourites, who capitalised on their chances.
Tinkler was asked what the loss means to the players and what needs to be done going forward.
"We don't have a choice but to remain positive, we need to keep on fighting and believe that anything can happen," he said.
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder said he can't fault the team as he felt they did everything they could to fight on the night and were dominating the match.
"Obviously I'm disappointed by the result but I really can't fault the players, even though I feel we didn't show good energy in the first half against a top side like Pirates. Overall they put up some good fighting spirit," he added.
Maritzburg will now travel to Limpopo to face Black Leopards, then host SuperSport United and then travel back to the north to face Baroka FC.
To avoid automatic relegation they need maximum points in all their remaining games and for Chippa United and Baroka to lose their remaining matches.
