In the Soweto Derby on Saturday there was more questionable officiating between Jelly Chavani and Zakhele Siwela as Chiefs had a goal disallowed, Thembinkosi Lorch escaped a red card, there was a penalty for Amakhosi, a red card for Pirates and two shouts for penalties.
When Middendorp was asked if Amakhosi benefited or not on Saturday from those decisions, the coach addressed the issue.
"Basically I'm not agreeing on what you say, despite it being pumbed to the public 'benefiting'. Who is benefiting? Pirates, Sundowns, Highlands Park, Black Leopards? Other teams?" he asked.
"Probably here Chiefs was benefiting, it happens, it's normal. Have you seen the goal Bloemfontein Celtic scored against SuperSport United? Pirates tackles against Highlands Park? I think all these red shirts are not having right colours, but as I said and will repeat it."
The Amakhosi coach has been trending on social media after a video clip of him talking about favourable treatment for Chiefs surfaced from when he was still at Maritzburg United.,
Middendorp addressed that and offered the solution he believes could help sort out the crisis.
"Sometimes let it go, don't even think about it. I can only repeat the only solution is not communication, it's not VAR. The only solution as we are in the soccer industry is SAFA and the PSL and so on," he said.
"I've said it in 2015/16 and I was absolutely leading in this communication. I think I've done my job where other coaches are coming in to it. I paid for it, a lot of money.
"The only solution is professional match officials have to come in, meaning everybody is prepared and [officials] have a real target, focused as professional football players and coaches are, focused on officiating only."
