Palsson has identified Phiri as Brondby's main threat ahead of the Danish club's Europa League qualifier with Hibernian tonight. Phiri missed the first leg, which yielded a 1-0 victory for his team, due to visa issues.

Palsson, whose side Esbjerg lost 4-0 to Brondy on the weekend, told The Scottish Sun: “We watched clips from Brondby’s first game against Hibs before our one. Hibs will know all about their new system by now.

“They absolutely battered us at the weekend. We expected them to pressure us, but we were still surprised with how well they played.

“What we found most difficult, because we play 4-4-2, was dealing with their wing-backs. Our midfielders were always outnumbered. They had so many runners from midfield. They were very, very good and we weren’t ready for their tactics.

“I know Phiri missed the first game but he played against us and he was clearly their best player. He was the best player on the pitch.

“He’s key to the way they play and is so secure on the ball. He’s small, quick and very difficult to defend against.

“He’s good at finding holes to pick up the ball and I don’t remember him ever playing the ball backwards. If Hibs want to go through then they’ll have to stop him.”
