Details of the 31-year-old's passing on Saturday are sketchy at this stage.

"Mosia passed away on Saturday night and everyone who played with him has put a profile pic of him on social networks. The family is shattered and it's very difficult for them at this stage,” says a close source.

AmaZulu said on Twitter this morning: "Condolences to the family & close friends of Boy Boy Mosia who has passed on this past weekend. May his soul R.I.P."

Mosia had spells in the youth ranks of Serie A champions Juventus and English giants Chelsea, while he played a handful of games for Westerlo in Belgium.

The midfielder was one of three South Africans that the Blues loaned to Westerlo in 2003 along with Masilo Modubi and Jeffrey Ntuka, who was stabbed to death in 2012.

Mosia was also on the books of Usuthu and Mpumalanga Black Aces.

KICK OFF would like to offer its condolences to the friends and family of Boy-Boy Mosia.
