Fadlu Davids: Maritzburg United shocked by Roger de Sa exit

De Sa parted ways with Maritzburg last week after less than three months in charge of the side.

Davids, who impressed in the hotseat when Ernst Middendorp quit in November, will start his second spell at the helm against Ajax Cape Town at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

“It obviously came as a shock when Roger resigned, so the first thing to do was to get the players to focus on football, focus on the positives and the tactical aspects of the game that we are working on,” Davids told the club's website.

Davids is determined to bring joy to the Team of Choice's fans this weekend.

He added:  “The last game we played at home was against Free State Stars and we won. We have to take that mentality into the Ajax game, that we are playing at home, we have to win it for our fans. It’s going to be a tough game as Ajax will also be coming for three points as we are in a similar situation on the log.”

Maritzburg, in 10th place on the table with 23 points from 21 games, have reported no injury concerns ahead of the clash, starting at 20h15.

Tickets are available at Computicket at R40 for adults and R10 for children. They can also be purchased from the club’s offices on 397 Victoria Rd, OK Mini Market on College Rd and Supersave.
