Free State Stars will allow their captain Paulus Masehe to continue playing in the coming season when Ea Lla Koto competes in the National First Division.

It was thought that the veteran midfielder will finally hang up his boots at the end of last season, but he has opted to carry on playing as he wants to help the team back up to the Absa Premiership.

The 35-year-old, though, will serve as a player-coach, helping the technical team. It has been Masehe’s plan to go into coaching.

"Paulus Masehe will also be joining the technical team as an assistant coach," Stars head coach Themba Sithole confirmed to KickOff.com.

"But I'm sure we going to use him on the field as one of the experienced guys."

'The Horse' started his football career as a striker in 2003 with Mamelodi Sundowns.

After Sundowns he moved to Pirates where he spent 18 months before moving to the Betlehem based side in 2008.

He made 25 appearances in all competitions for Stars last season.
