Mamelodi Sundowns' promotion of striker Promise Mkhuma is likely to be their only signing of the transfer window after a big move they were chasing fell through.

The Brazilians have been making frantic efforts to bring Motupa to the club in the last few days.

An official at Sundowns has confirmed that the proposed deal for the services of the 25-year-old is now dead and the club will not be making any more signings before midnight.
"Yes it's true, both clubs have been talking. At one stage the deal looked promising. We tried to push it again this week," the official tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"The deal is now completely off."
