Swallows FC are hoping talented midfielder Given Thibedi will be back on loan after he returned to training with Kaizer Chiefs earlier this week.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Swallows FC together with Itumeleng Shopane, Ayanda Rorwana and Sizwe Twala.

After Swallows' successful promotion campaign, the four players have been back at The Village where they were being assessed by the new Amakhosi head coach.

Dube Birds chairman David Mogashoa confirms that Thibedi and company went back to Chiefs training and he is waiting on the Soweto club to make decisions on them.

"Thibedi is training with Kaizer Chiefs and the coach Gavin Hunt is looking at him together with the other players that were on loan, they have gone back to Kaizer Chiefs," Mogashoa tells KickOff.com.

"We will wait and see. Our arms will always be open if Kaizer Chiefs decides to give us Thibedi again. We are just waiting for Chiefs to decide. Otherwise we are ready to welcome them back."

[UPDATE: Chiefs have just announced that the quartet have been loaned back Swallows, with Mogashoa adding: "I am happy. It’s been very tough negotiations but we got them."]

Amakhosi could decide to wait until an outcome is delivered in their appeal against their FIFA transfer ban. If the suspension is not lifted, Chiefs could decide to keep Thibedi as they would remain banned from signing new players until July 2021.

Chiefs have also invited Bafana Bafana defender Sifiso Hlanti to train with the team. The highly regarded left-back worked with Hunt during their time at Bidvest Wits.
