Golden Arrows bagged their third victory in the DStv Premiership after a resounding 4-0 win over Swallows courtesy of a brace by Nduduzo Sibiya on Saturday afternoon.

Arrows were unchanged from the loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, but Swallows recalled Kwanda Mngonyama, Keegan Allan, Pentjie Zulu, Yagan Sasman and Lindokuhle Mtshali particularly.

There wasn't goal-mouth shortages 13 minutes in as Abafana Besthende made the breakthrough when Nduduzo Sibiya fired in from the penalty spot following a foul by Sasman.

It was two for the host within a minute when Pule Mmodi applied a first-time finish outside the area on the back of a misplaced pass by goalkeeper Thakasani Mbanjwa.

Swallows struggled to get into rhythm and Abafana Besthende continued to see openings and possession too, as Sasman made way for Wandisile Letlabika.

Dylan Kerr’s men still kept their shape towards halftime and were very close to reducing the deficit when Mwape Musonda headed over from a first-time ball in at the near post.

Abafana Besthende were out recharged in the second period and could’ve made it three from a clear opening by Sibiya following a through pass, but Mbanjwa parried.

Swallows though replied and nearly had one back from a rasping effort in the area by Musonda, but the Zambian allowed the opportunity to go astray.

The host stayed tight and grabbed a third goal midway in the second half when Sibiya dropped a shoulder on the edge of the area and fired in at the near corner.

Abafana Besthende weren’t done and added a fourth goal after Nqubeko Dlamini collected a loose ball from Velemseni Ndwandwe on the edge of the box and volleyed into the bottom-corner.

Kerr’s boys looked for a some sort of consolation in the final minutes of the match, but Arrows remained compact and saw the match to a close.
