Lamontville Golden Arrows co-head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has explained why he was not bothered by midfielder Ntsako Makhubela's showboating during his side’s loss to Orlando Pirates.

Golden Arrows suffered a 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. In a moment that caught the attention of spectators, Arrows midfielder Ntsako Makhubela – who is on loan from the Buccaneers - displayed some Kasi flavour, with his team trailing 1-0.

While most have taken to social media to criticise the piece of skill, Vilakazi said he has no problem the passage of play.

"Honestly, I didn’t’ have a problem with that [Makhubela’s showboating]," Vilakazi told journalists.

"I think in the first half, our team was struggling in terms of being motivated and having confidence. Specifically about Makhubela, I know he was playing against his parent club, so he wanted to do well and he started very scrappy.

"So I allowed him to do that [showboat]. I don’t have a problem when players do whatever they want to do. I’m only interested in the reaction when we lose the ball and I don’t expect them to lose the ball after doing that.

"I know he was not the culprit but after that he passed the ball to someone who lost it."

"But specifically for Makhubela, I was okay with him [showboating] and I felt it would boost his confidence going forward."

Arrows will look to bounce back when they meet an inform Maritzburg United on Saturday at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.
