Happy Jele targets historic result for Orlando Pirates against Mamelodi Sundowns

The two sides are in for a high-stakes encounter as they look to kickstart their final push for the coveted league prize, with just a handful of games now remaining.

But the Buccaneers, who are arguably more under pressure in this instance as they have nothing else left to play for this season, will have their work cut out as history depicts a rather bleak picture.

Pirates have failed to get the better of Sundowns in their previous seven matches at home, with their last victory having come all the way back in August 2011.

In a desperate bid to cut the gap and go on to lead the chase for the championship, Jele says they will look to change their poor record with maximum points tonight.

“It’s been a while since we beat Sundowns at Orlando, but now is a chance to change that,” said Jele.

“I think Sundowns have been a good team, and we respect them, but obviously [this] is going to be a different game.

“We’re taking it game by game, but [today] we want to take three points.”
