Highlands Park coach Owen da Gama has warned that they wont allow Mamelodi Sundowns to score early in their Absa Premiership match tonight.

Sundowns put AmaZulu to sword in the Telkom Knockout match on Sunday, cruising to a 5-0 victory, and look to be regaining their top form at an important time.

With the Lions of the North in their sights next, Da Gama says he will have a plan to stop them at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"First and foremost, you don't allow Sundowns to score early because it just gives them the confidence and running," Da Gama said.

"We will work hard to try and keep them at bay."

Da Gama is also taking some courage from the fact that they played to a goalless draw at Loftus last season, only to lose 2-1 in the return leg at home.

"We know it was a close encounter last time here. We hit the post twice and we lost 2-1 at home. But in saying that, they are a fantastic team and when you play against teams like Sundowns, you grow as a team.

"We will certainly work hard as a technical team and do our best."
