The speedy left-back sustained the knock on the eve of Bafana Bafana's Afcon qualifier with Congo on Wednesday night, with SuperSport United's Sibusiso Khumalo deputising for him at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
"I am still feeling a little bit of pain on the injury," Matlaba tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I am going to see the doctor for a scan today and will only take it from there after the results."
Patrick Phungwayo is expected to fill in for Matlaba when Bucs host Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
