Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs may be massive rivals on the pitch, but their respective coaches were spotted bonding at a recent Absa Premiership match.

Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer and Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp were seen sitting together on a scouting mission at the Bidvest Stadium on Thursday evening.

Bidvest Wits were set to face Black Leopards in a catch-up league fixture that interested both Middendorp and Zinnbauer, whose respective sides are currently first and second on the log standings.

However, there was little achieved by either party as the match was called off due to inclement weather in Johannesburg, forcing the match to be rescheduled.

Middendorp is known to be an avid attendee at PSL fixtures when Amakhosi are not in action, but it would seem the practice of live scouting is a German tradition.

Though both coaches previously stated they had never met or spoken to the other, they were seen getting acquainted alongside one another ahead of this month's much anticipated, sold-out Soweto Derby.
