Joseph Molangoane's future looks bleak at Kaizer Chiefs

After failing to make any of the Amakhosi teams that played in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup and Macufe Cup on the weekend, where fringe players were given a chance, it is becoming clear the winger is not in head coach Ernst Middendorp's plans.

This is despite having his contract renewed by a further year only in May this year.

Molangoane, who officially arrived at Chiefs from Chippa United in December 2016, had to sit out a whole eight months not playing the game that he loves after he broke his ankle in August last year against Free State Stars.

It is not clear whether the player's injury has not properly healed, however, it seems the German mentor has already made up his mind about the year 31-year-old.

Asked why was the player not given a chance in the friendlies on Saturday and Sunday against Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic, the club's communications manager Vina Maphosa only replied: "He's part of the team."

Molangoane was linked with a move to Celtic at the beginning of the season but nothing was confirmed regarding those rumours.

The Alexandra-born star only played two games in all competitions for the Glamour Boys last season, providing a single assist.
