Gordinho received his maiden Bafana call-up for the upcoming friendlies with Guinea-Bissau and Angola following a fine season for Amakhosi.
The 22-year-old, who was named PSL Player of the Month for August/September, has played 19 of Chiefs' 21 league games, while he is among their top scorers this campaign with four goals - one less than Siphiwe Tshabalala.
Gordinho is focusing on translating his club form to international level.
"I just think [I've got to be] to be consistent in my performances for the club and bring it to the national team. Like the coach [Owen da Gama] said, I must enjoy myself, work hard and be consistent in my performances, and the rest will take care of itself," Gordinho said.
"Of course it is important for every South African player to be part of the national team. Everyone wants to play for their country. I just think for myself it is something that will be a good achievement for me to be a regular in the squad. But nothing is certain so I've got to work hard, perform well, be consistent and hopefully cement my place in the squad.
"Having said that, I just want to say I'm happy to be here and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of the squad and to be included in the squad. I'm excited to get going, excited to start working for the team."
Bafana will host Guinea-Bissau at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (15h00) before facing Angola in East London on Tuesday (19h00).
