Chiefs beat the Buccaneers 2-0 on Saturday thanks to goals from Erick Mathoho and Zambian attacker Macha at FNB Stadium.

"For Macha, first goal, derby, first match. I am happy for him,” says Komphela, whose side will face Magesi FC in the F.A.M.E Charity Cup in Polokwane this weekend.

“'Tower' (Mathoho) as well, beautiful goal. I thought at half-time we should go to the dressing room with one or two goals. The second half as well, we had chances but we were kept in the game by the keeper as well.”

Komphela recently recruited Khumalo to offer competition to Tsepo Masilela at left-back, and the former SuperSport United man did not disappoint on debut.

“First one we felt we know Tsepo and if we bring Sbu would you face a disaster? No. Sbu is equally capable and the games we played throughout pre-season he was there, not much difference in terms on how we as Kaizer Chiefs want to play and how he plays.”
