The Kaizer Chiefs man is in Owen da Gama's starting XI for today's clash with Guinea Bissau at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium (15h00), with the national side also tackling Angola in East London on Tuesday.

“The friendlies are an opportunity to test tactical elements in preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers,” Rama told his club's website.

“However, there are no friendly matches for professional athletes. We take every game seriously. And, don’t forget there’s a national flag involved.”

Mphahlele expects a test this afternoon from Djurtus, who qualified for the 2017 African Nations Cup.

“They have a strong side. We will endeavour to keep the ball, play to our strength to unlock them and cause them problems.”

He added: “The training sessions have prepared us to be ready. We also played a friendly against Golden Arrows in which we all got a run.”

Meanwhile, Mphahlele is encouraged to see youngsters such as Lorenzo Gordinho, Percy Tau and Phakamani Mahlambi in the Bafana mix.

“We have new blood in the squad. It is good to see Lorenzo Gordinho, Percy Tau, Phakamani Mahlambi and others coming up the ranks. They will help us going forward.”
