Kaizer Chiefs' released players tally rises to full starting XI

Following the departures of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Ramahlwe Mphahlele on Tuesday, Kaizer Chiefs have now released a full starting XI of players.

The mass exodus at Naturena continued on Tuesday when Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the departures of defenders Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

Ntiya-Ntiya, who is a graduate of the Chiefs academy, parted ways with the club by agreement while veteran Mphahlele was released following the expiration of his contract.

The defensive duo's respective exits takes the total tally of outbound Amakhosi stars to 11 since the end of last season meaning a full starting line-up could be fielded from those heading out the door.

That lineup would admittedly have to take the form of an impractical 3-3-4 formation but in theory, a workable starting XI could be formed just from the players who have left Chiefs this month.

Nigeria international goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was among the first among the confirmed departees and would take his place in goal ahead of a three-man defence.

That defensive backline would include the aforementioned Ntiya-Ntiya and Mphahlele, who could be positioned on either side of Daniel Cardoso, who was released after seven seasons with Chiefs.

In midfield, Dumisani Zuma, who has since joined AmaZulu and Kearyn Baccus were both allowed to leave, while long-serving attacking midfielder Lebogang Manyama has also departed.

The latter would feature just behind a makeshift front-four which would see the likes of Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, Lazarous Kambole and Bernard Parker provide the attacking threat.

How do you think this starting XI of released Chiefs players would fare?
