Kaizer Chiefs retain services of Siphelele Ntshangase, Brylon Petersen and Philani Zulu

Kaizer Chiefs have issued an update on the futures of three of their players as they look to beat the FIFA ban that the club currently finds itself under.

Chiefs have retained the services of midfielders Siphelele Ntshangase and Philani Zulu, as well as goalkeeper Brylon Petersen, whose contracts were all set to end on Tuesday.

The trio have all been handed new deals that will see them remain at Naturena for a further year as they look to maintain their squad for next season.

Amakhosi are currently restricted from signing any new players after FIFA handed the club a one-year transfer ban over the signing of Madagascan midfielder 'Dax' Andrianarimanana back in July 2018.

Though they have appealed the sanction with the Court of Arbitrations for Sport in Switzerland, which will only be heard in September, their ban has not been suspended until then.

Conscious thereof and the possibility that the ban might not be overturned, resulting in the club not being able to add new signings for next season, The Glamour Boys have moved to hold onto the likes of Petersen, Zulu and Ntshangase.

Petersen was released by Chiefs back in 2018 but returned in October last year after the club struggled for depth due to another injury sustained by Itumeleng Khune, when young Bontle Molefe had to be excused for school exams.

Zulu has also been retained despite making just three appearances under coach Ernst Middendorp this season, while Ntshangase was on the verge of seeing his spell with the Soweto side come to an end after failing to making a single appearance this season.
