Ernst Middendorp displeased with Kaizer Chiefs display against Baroka

Chiefs lacked the same tempo and urgency they displayed in the 2-0 Nedbank Cup quarter-final victory over Cape Town City last weekend.

And Middendorp put the defeat down to not having the right attitude.

"We saw two totally different games from the same players," Middendorp told SuperSport TV.

"We had nearly the same starting XI from last week, where we saw a fantastic performance. We had the attitude and hunger and we spoke about it the whole week that we can't let our guard down this week.

"When you are playing teams that are fighting for survival, you can't be half-hearted and that's what we were. We didn't have the right attitude and didn't play the soccer game we are capable of playing.

"We need to take the right lesson from this defeat. Just because we had a fantastic game last weekend, doesn't mean everything is in place."

Chiefs play Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semi-final next weekend and then have a tricky PSL trip to Thohoyandou to face Black Leopards in the middle of next week.
