
Amakhosi surrendered a two goal lead in the last 15 minutes as they drew 2-2 with the Free State outfit on Wednesday evening.
The Glamour Boys are yet to record a win in the league after five matches and find themselves in 13th position in the league standings.
“We played very well we had the game under control. We switched off, lost concentration and we conceded two stupid goals. It’s a pity because we lost two points,” a visibly disappointed Solinas told SuperSport TV.
“I’m a little bit [disappointed] because we were leading 2-0 and the game in our pocket. We had every situation under control. Celtic did not create any chances. They were not dangerous. We lost the mentality. We were soft defensively. We need to improve our defensive job,” he said.
The Italian insisted that he still needs time for his charges to get used to his philosophy.
“In football to change the mentality you need time. It’s not possible to change [the mentality] overnight. So [we] need the time, the training sessions to fix the mistakes. We work hard,” he explained.
The former Free State Stars tactician added that their position on the Absa Premiership standings is a concern but they have to switch their focus into another important fixture in the MTN8 semi-final on Saturday.
“We need to focus on the next game, this game is gone. [On] Saturday we have a very important game for us.
“The position in the league is not good for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs. We need to improve because this position is not for Kaizer Chiefs.”
