Billiat has been the standout player since arriving at Amakhosi at the start of the season and was duly named the Absa Premiership Player of the Month for September.

The 28-year-old enjoyed great success during his five years at Chloorkop, winning nearly every domestic and continental trophy on offer.

The Zimbabwean international also picked up multiple individual honours, including the PSL Footballer of the Season gong in 2016, and finished runner-up to Denis Onyango for the CAF African-based Footballer of the Yearprize in the same year.

Despite all this, Billiat has explained that his recent form is testament to his continued desire to achieve more in his career.

“I think, like I said before, Chiefs is a big team. To come to Chiefs, you should humble yourself and do your best,” said Billiat.

“There’s no reason for me to come and not work, because whatever happened before is not going to carry me forward.

“I need to actually try and do better and try and win [silverware] with Chiefs. They have won before, and I want to be part of that.

“I just want to be part of a successful team, and I believe Chiefs have that. I believe it’s actually a different feeling to win with Chiefs.

“I would never be satisfied with whatever happened before because I want to do better, and I think I’m at the right team with the right players around me to achieve even more.

“So, that’s what’s given me more energy to do better every day. I always want to do better, and I will keep on chasing that.”
