KickOff understands that the Soweto giants have now decided to exercise that option to hold onto Hlanti for next season.
"Hlanti's contract with Kaizer Chiefs is set to expire in June, but the club will take the year option in January," a club official tells KickOff.
Hlanti's agent, Sizwe Ntshangase additionally confirmed his client's current contract with Chiefs is due to expire in June next year with an option to renew.
"With regards to Hlanti, there are no issues. Chiefs have an option on his contract, and I am confident he will stay," Ntshangase tells KickOff.
Itumeleng Khune and Eric Mathoho are two other stars who will see their current Kaizer Chiefs contracts expire at the end of the season in June and will be free to sign a pre-contract with any club in January 2023.
