Kaizer Chiefs vice-captain Willard Katsande has likened the club to a dying flower as they take stick for being stuck in seventh position on the log.

Chiefs have been on the receiving end of some serious trolling from their rivals in recent weeks, as they struggled for results and saw themselves remain in their current position on the log table for over two months.

With just two games remaining, find themselves in a peculiar position of having to fight for a top eight spot, which if successful, could well see them finish in the exact same position.

Names such as ‘7de Laan FC’ – after a popular South African TV series, including several memes, have since made the rounds on social media, and Katsande has now admitted the painful experience thereof, but remains adamant that Amakhosi will have the last laugh.

“Yes, you hear people are making fun of us, but at the end of the day it’s very painful because this is a big team to be stuck in seventh position,” said Katsande.

“But who knows who might have the last laugh? We never know what tomorrow holds for us, so for now we lick our wounds with everything thrown at us.

“We are a dying flower, you can throw dirt on us, it’s a vitamin D, but you never know what tomorrow holds when the sunshine comes – my flower can blossom. So, I think we’re going to have the last laugh, trust me.”
