Despite already boasting a huge squad, the former Sundowns striker sees no problem with the defending Absa Premiership champions signing more players.

"Sundowns is a big team," Mashego tells KickOff.com.

"It's in Sundowns' nature to always have the best players you know. The best players will always make a difference to the club, they can contribute positively to their goals that they want to achieve. So it's nothing new.

"I mean I wouldn't worry much when Sundowns signs players. I mean big clubs sign players. Chelsea has already announced two players, Barcelona has already announced three or four players. So in football, clubs that can afford to do that always sign the best players that are available to them.

"Ja, Sundowns is a big club and a club with principles and not a mickey mouse club, they know what they are doing. And Coach Pitso has proven time and time again that he knows how to use players and he knows how to make a team win.

"I mean he's won everything at Sundowns, so we can't sit and question what he is going to do with the other players that are there and the other players that are coming. I think we should give him benefit of the doubt. I mean his done a lot for the club and done a lot for the country.

"The fact that Sundowns signs players to kill competition is not true. Sundowns is second on the log, they haven't done well in other cups. It's not like when they have all those players, they are going to win everything. Football doesn't work like that.

"They've just lost in the CAF Champions League. So it's not possible that they can sign all the players and prevent other teams from competing with them. It's not possible."
