Kaizer Chiefs star Keagan Dolly has set a new personal record following his double against Orlando Pirates in Friday's Soweto Derby.

Dolly continued his scintillating form for the Amakhosi this season when he marked his first-ever appearance in the Soweto derby with a brace to help his side claim a famous 2-1 win over rivals Orlando Pirates.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star has now scored five goals since his return to South Africa which, while seeing him currently sit in contention for the Golden Boot award, also happens to be his best-ever single-season tally in the Premiership.

Dolly's record in the DStv Premiership by season:

2012/13: Ajax Cape Town (12 appearances, 1 goal)
2013/14: Ajax Cape Town (27 appearances, 3 goals)
2014/15: Ajax Cape Town (16 appearances, 1 goal)
2015/16: Mamelodi Sundowns (29 appearances, 4 goals)
2016/17: Mamelodi Sundowns (5 appearances, 1 goal)
2021/22: Kaizer Chiefs (10 appearances, 5 goals)

Dolly previously spent four-and-a-half seasons in the South African top-flight across spells with Ajax Cape Town and Masandawana, during which his best return in a campaign was the four goals he scored for the latter in the 2015/16 season.

In fact, his tally of five goals in 10 appearances this season already amounts to a third of all his goals scored in the league, with the 28-year-old boasting a return of 15 goals in 99 appearances in the competition.

Unsurprisingly, Dolly's form has earned him a recall to the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana, where national team coach Hugo Broos will be hoping he can replicate his performances in the gold and green.
