Chiefs are set to welcome Baroka to FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening in what will be their first meeting since last season's devastating final-day result at Bidvest Stadium.
Amakhosi ultimately lost the league title as Manuel Kambala inflicted heartbreak in the club's hopes of clinching a first trophy in five years.
Baccus, albeit an unused substitute on that day, says the memory still lingers in their minds and this will be added to their motivation to beat the Limpopo outfit this week.
"You know they ended up beating us last season in the last game, which was disappointing. So, I think we've got a little bit of – how do I say... disappointment and hurt, which we need to take into this game and use it to help us to drive and battle, and hopefully get a win," Baccus told the club's media team.
With Chiefs currently in seventh position, trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Swallows FC by 10 points, the Australian national insisted they cannot worry about what's happening with other teams.
"Definitely I think everyone is looking at the log every week, things are changing day-in and day-out, because there are a lot of games - Tuesday; Saturday; Tuesday; Saturday," he added.
"So, you know things are changing quickly but we're not really concentrating too much on that, we just need to concentrate on ourselves and getting results, and the rest is [elementary], we can't worry about people outside of us in other clubs."
