Kgotso Moleko fires Chippa United warning

Kaizer Chiefs defender Kgotso Moleko believes advancing to the Nedbank Cup final could make supporters forget their Absa Premiership heartbreak.

Chiefs only remaining chance for silverware now lies in the Nedbank Cup, in which they face Chippa United in the semi-final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this evening (20h15).

Their chances in the league were dashed following their draw at Black Leopards last weekend, which preceded Pirates gaining an unassailable 13-point lead at the top of the table.

Though their chances had been slim prior thereto, the official confirmation left many Amakhosi supporters dispirited by their team’s continued failure spanning the last four seasons.

But Moleko is optimistic that sweeping Chippa aside and taking one step closer to lifting a cup could well ease that sorrow.

“It’s all about how we approach the game. I think if we can be motivated and want it more then things won’t be the same as what happened in Durban,” said Moleko.

“It will be very nice if we can win this game. I don’t want to lie; I think even our supporters will forget about the league [disappointment]. So, I think it will be very nice if we can win this game.”

The 29-year-old full-back further fired a stern warning to The Chilli Boys ahead of tonight’s clash.

“They must know that we are coming. They are a good side, but they must know that Chiefs is coming,” he stated.
