'Khune is being unfairly judged'

accreditation

Khune rolled back the years recently when representing the Warriors who clinched the inaugural DStv Compact Cup.

Despite his impressive displays the 34-year-old has continued to be overlooked by Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter with in-form Brandon Petersen preferred.

"Talent is talent no matter what," Mathibe tells KickOff.

"From the age of 35, goalkeepers tend to reach their peak and for me, he's still the best and a legend.

"I don't think his lack of game time is due to form, sometimes it's injuries or the competition.

"Khune's age has also seen him adapting his style of play, while people still expect him to play as he did a few years ago.

"Now that he is more matured he is leaning more on his experience.

"As a goalkeeper, you need to be patient where you need to wait for your chance.

"I believe if he can get a chance he will utilise it."
