“I want to win the league that's where I want to end the season," Klate said.
"We are doing this to win. If you ask me where I would like to end the season, I will be happy to be number one, that’s my mentality.
“But obviously the game has to take its course, we can’t predict things.
"All we need to do is to be better than last season whether we win a trophy or not, but at least we need to finish better than last season
"I am one of those people who looks at matches won, matches lost, we have to win more games than defeats, that’s more important for me."
Chippa United are set to host Royal AM in their next league encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Klate was excited to be on the opposing side of mentor, Gavin Hunt in his coaching debut.
"It was interesting to be next to my master, he is my mentor as well.
"It was good, I gave him a call and said look it's my first time, what do I do, how do I behave, and he advised me accordingly.
"He is the reason why I am here as he played a major role in sparking my ambition to pursue coaching."
