KZN's Thabo Cele eager to succeed at Portugal's Real Sport Clube

The 19-year-old, who hails from KwaMashu and played for the KZN Academy, was handed the deal after completing a trial in May.

Cele's move to the Iberian Peninsula follows closely after Bidvest Wits teenager Liam Jordan joined Primeira Liga giants Sporting Lisbon.

"I'm very excited about this chance but there is that pressure on me now," Cele says to this website en-route to King Shaka International Airport on Tuesday.

"What I need to do now I have to work hard when I arrive there. It doesn't stop here that I'm leaving to Portugal but I have to work once I serve there.

"And happiness wise, I'm very happy for myself and this is actually something I have been dreaming for many years since I was growing up.

"I also want to thank my family and the KZN Academy from Carlos Catalino (director of Hoy Park management) and Madam Gu (Gugu Marawa) for giving me this chance to showcase our skills. I believe others will get this opportunity but I'm delighted for their efforts."

The KZN Academy has also produced players such as Sandile Mthethwa, Brian Hlongwa, Menzi Ndwandwe and Nkanyiso Zungu in its three years of existence.
