Hunt penned a three-year deal with the Soweto giants earlier this month following the departure of German tactician Ernst Middendorp.
Maselesele claims the appointment of the four-time league winner sends a strong message to opponents that the glory days in Naturena will be back.
"I'm so happy with Gavin Hunt's appointment. I know him personally, a very top coach who is guaranteed success at the club," Maselesele tells KickOff.com.
"The chairman has got it right, I believe he will give him every support he needs because Hunt is someone who doesn't like any interference in his job, and knowing the chairman, the coach will be given freedom to do what he does best, which is good results."
Amakhosi announced Dillon Sheppard and Arthur Zwane as Hunt's assistant coaches and the former striker believes the two young coaches will bring something new to the team.
"I know Shepperd, I played with him, a very good human being, understands different characters and with huge experience. He has spent time with Gavin Hunt at Bidvest Wits and also proved himself there," Maselesele says.
"Zwane is a very disciplined individual and will bring that to the senior side, a true servant of the game who has paid his dues.
"Having Zwane and Shepard will help Hunt to succeed. If you want to win, get two intelligent people around you. People must brace themselves for greatness."
