Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lyle Lakay is expecting a thorough test from his former team SuperSport United tonight.

Ahead of the 19h30 kick-off at Loftus Stadium, a confident Sundowns are in high spirits after progressing handsomely past Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.

For SuperSport, nothing less than a win will do as they battle to remain in the title race, and Lakay has issued a word of caution to his teammates.

"If you listened to their technical team carefully leading up to this match, you can sense that they believe they are still in the title race and that makes them a highly-motivated bunch," Lakay said on the club's website.

"If you ask me, they are currently doing very well in my opinion especially if you look at where they were halfway through the season and where they are right now.

"They have actually gone quietly about their business, almost unnoticed."

The Brazilians picked up three points back in early December in the first round of the league, and the stakes are much higher this time around as the season approaches it climax.

"The Tshwane Derby is never boring and there’s always something to play for," Lakay added.
