AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson has praised Pitso Mosimane and Mamelodi Sundowns for flying the South African flag in the CAF Champions League.

Masandawana are in the semifinals of the elite African club competition again after defeating Al Ahly 5-1 on aggregate, and Johnson said the country should be proud and take note of how they keep their consistency.

"We need to give Mamelodi Sundowns a good round of applause for what they've done for the country, I give Pitso Mosimane huge respect for the success of that club," said Johnson.

Reflecting on how his own team can recover from the situation they find themselves in, Johnson drew inspiration from Sundowns and believes if Usuthu can take note on the professionalism of the players in Pretoria, they can bounce back.

"Players are as good as their last game, they must be ready to play many matches in a week. We need to improve on our lifestyle," he said.

"If you look at Sundowns, they have top professionalism, the social life of their players is on another level. Let's give credit to Pitso Mosimane, we can look at them and say we want to be like them because they are a good inspiration.

"They are at a level where we aspire to be, what a success of South African football."

Usuthu host SuperSport United next Wednesday in a game where they will be looking for maximum points to bring back the smiles to their faithful.
