Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane backs his side to bounce back against Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident they will get the goals they need to progress to the CAF Champions League final for the second time in three years.

After winning the competition in 2016, Sundowns have an opportunity to progress to the final this season when they take on Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the second leg semifinal.

Sundowns lost the first leg semifinal 2-1 on Friday night, but the all important away goal – scored by right back Anele Ngcongca – gives them hope of progressing in the competition. A 1-0 victory will be enough for Sundowns to progress to the final.

“We re fighting and we are battling. It’s difficult to go to Rabat and it’s difficult to go to Cairo, you saw how difficult it is there. We are hanging in there and we believe we Sundowns will score on Saturday, the goal is going to come. Maybewe can hang in there and go to the final, it’s going to be very difficult.

But maybe God is there for us. The goal is always there in Atteridgeville, but Wydad is always capable of scoring and that’s my issue. I hope we keep them quiet.”

Sundowns would become the first club from South Africa to win the Champions League twice, if they get their hands on the tropy this season.
