Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was happy with the fact that his side scored three goals against Chippa United, but feels midfielder Lebohang Maboe needs more confidence in front of goal.

Sundowns registered a 3-2 victory over the Chilli Boys to move level on points with log leaders Orlando Pirates, who visit Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Despite banging in three goals against the Chilli Boys, Sundowns could have scored more, including midfielder Maboe, whose decision making in the final third at times let him down.

“What can I say? Difficult game, because Chippa gave us a hard time to be honest. They had their nice combination passes and play we had a little bit of a challenge,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.

“But what’s important is that we scored three goals. We scored two over the weekend, but again confidence on Lebo in front of goal…he decides to pass. He must take it himself and finish. Gaston scored a more difficult goal than the chances Lebo got. It’s okay, we won the game.”

Sundowns are flying out to Morocco tonight, ahead of Friday’s CAF Champions League semifinal first leg against 2017 champions Wydad Casablanca.
