Mamelodi Sundowns have more than just three points to play for against Black Leopards

After receiving news that there won’t have any points deducted, Mamelodi Sundowns will be motivated even more to collect maximum points against Black Leopards in Thohoyandou tonight.

Just recently head coach Pitso Mosimane spoke of how he does not know how many points Sundowns have, due to the fact that there was a disciplinary committee case decision pending. Last night the PSL, through the disciplinary committee, confirmed that the club would only be fined R250 000, half of which is suspended for 12 months.

Now they go into their clash against Lidoda Duvha, knowing very well where they stand, currently just three points behind Absa Premiership leaders Orlando Pirates, who have a tough encounter away from home against Cape Town City on Saturday.

Getting three points is not the only thing Sundowns will be focused on. After wasting a number of scoring opportunities in their 3-2 victory over Chippa United last week, Sundowns will be looking for a more clinical performance in front of goal so that they improve on their goal difference.

Pirates have a goal difference of +17, while Sundowns’ is +12. Mosimane will no doubt encourage his players to get as many goals against a Leopards side that has conceded 43 goals in 27 matches.
