Former Marumo Gallants head coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela has revealed his previous difficult relationship with former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Paul Dolezar.

Malesela, who lifted trophies with the Brazilians, accused the Frenchman of cutting short his playing career at the club.

"I was happy and doing well at Sundowns then came Paul Dolezar," Malesela tells KickOff.

"Me being me, I didn't get along well with Paul Dolezar because I'm a person who'd ask questions.

"Maybe it was because coaching was already in my head.

"So I would ask why are we doing this? Why are we training like this?

"Why are we doing physical training on a Thursday when we are playing on Saturday?

"So it didn't go down well with him, So in the end I told him 'I don't think you are a coach.'

'Ya I told him straight 'I don't think you are the coach.'

"You see players make a mistake sometimes because they do things they don't understand...but if you are taking care of yourself as a player you must take care of the brand.

"If the brand is Dan Malesela you must take care of that brand, because this man is the custodian he must take care of this thing.

"So he must do the right thing so that my brand doesn't drop. So I was coming from there.

"So it didn't go down well with Dolezar, and me I didn't mean any harm I meant well when I said to him 'I want you to take care of my career, don't play with it.'

"You can't come and tell me you must run from here to there. And at that particular time you don't explain why.

"I must first understand why am I running such a long distance. Is it a reasonable distance to run on the field?

"You cannot run from one end of the field to the other end and you saying it's football specific endurance, it's not.

"For me Dolezar he was just a lucky man getting to good clubs that's it.

"It's not only him you know we had so many coaches in the country that really cheated football."
